NFKBC’s Granby Street feedback

Visions of what could be: alternative designs for Granby could provide significantly better protection to riders while inducing greater demand for cycling.

The City of Norfolk, since 2015, has developed plans to identify, design, and build corridors for bike facilities. Part of this effort has included a redesign of Granby Street between Willow Wood Drive and Admiral Taussig Boulevard to include bike lanes of some kind. While it’s admirable of the city to have some form of systemic bicycle infrastructure plan what has been proposed so far, particularly on this stretch of Granby Street, falls far short of achieving “good” infrastructure. NFKBC offers these design alternatives both to highlight what could as well as what should be done.
